About us

Hello, we thought you might like to know how and why we started our business together.

We are sisters who live in the Norfolk countryside and share a passion for the outdoors and country pursuits. The collections we have created are based on a country lifestyle.

About Pat

I(Pat) have been married to John for over 50 years now and have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren and a recent great grandson. We have lived in Norfolk for over 20 years and came to live here wanting to be closer to family. We moved here from London when I took up a position as a head teacher of a junior school in Norfolk and of course this fulfilled our love of a country life. I have a degree in education specialising in art and primary teaching studies, and did a City and Guilds in Silversmithing in Norwich. Both Linda and myself did a millinery course with Artelier in London and I have continued to develop my millinery and textile skills on a variety of different courses during the last few years.

About Linda

I now widowed, having be married to David for over 50 years, have 2 grown up children, 3 granddaughters and a great granddaughter. I have lived in the same house in Norfolk since 1969 having had businesses in farming and recycling for 40 years. I was originally a partner and I am still a shareholder in my daughter’s equestrian business, which I helped to establish, and from this the roots of Country Essentials began.

We both love what we do

Our clothing designs and accessories are primarily classic style, handmade, hand finished and hand decorated; our range covers a variety of occasions from everyday to that special event, that are also popular with the racing and country followers. The Country Essentials Norfolk brand prides itself in offering unique hats, country clothing, lifestyle and accessories.

We choose and source our fabrics and materials ourselves to ensure that the quality and feel of the fabric suit our designs to create an individual look for an affordable British country style. Our Tweed is British sourced and stands the test of time and trend.

Having fallen in love with hats we share this passion with our customers to ensure they have the right style and fit to reflect their personality, boosting confidence in their look. We offer a wide variety of head pieces, everyday styles and formal occasions from steam punk to Ascot.

We both love what we do, and together we have a wide range of skill sets having been taught to knit (by Granddad), sewing and dressmaking by our mum and various other useful crafts we have picked up on the way, helps us to develop and deliver our collections. Catering for the individual, our own niche market gives classic style at an affordable price.

Our delivery of service and our attention to detail is vital to us to ensure that our customers are happy and confident with their purchase.
